Erin Condren 2017 Life Planner + New Releases
The other day I received a big box from the Erin Condren marketing team filled with new releases and other fun goodies! One of the things included was the 2017 Life Planner! YAY!!! I can't wait to give you guys a look at the new LP and all the new features that are available to customize yours! If you're just here for the Life Planner, scroll about half way through the post. Also, don't miss out on saving that cash money at the end of this post!
I've got a whole bunch of goodies to share with you, so I'm going to start small with accessories and work my way up to the Life Planner!
Let's start with page markers. There are so many new ones to choose from! My favorites are definitely the tiny snap-in markers.
I love that you can use the main ruler/page marker to mark the week you're currently on, and then use these smaller markers to keep the place of other important pages in your planner.
The new collection has tons of metallic options, especially when it comes to the interchangeable covers!
In addition to interchangeable covers, a new set of page flags has arrived. These ones are nice and subtle compared to previous designs and are definitely my favorite set yet! I like that in addition to the white space and toned down design, there are stickies that serve a purpose, like that check list - so useful! And of course, who doesn't love a good coil clip to add goodies into your planner whenever you want? Yes please!
Like previous versions of the Life Planner, the 2017 comes with a clear pouch for storage. This one is not attached to the planner, so you can keep it loose or move it around the planner by attaching it with a coil clip. It's also made from a more flexible material and has a slide zipper (unlike previous years). I was really excited about that change because I always had the hardest time getting those things to zip! You still get freebies in the zip pouch and they've added a sample sticker book! SCORE!
The snap-in dashboard is perfect for making lists that change often like grocery lists. You just use the wet erase markers on it and can wipe it clean each week/day/etc. These wet erase markers also work on the insides of the planner covers - there is designated space for using them (shown in photos below).
Then of course, the EC sticker book!
The sticker book is filled with colorful stickers and decked out in gold foil (which I tried to show with some fancy camera angles above). :) I like that they've included functional stickers in the book, along with decorative. The bold colors are still a bit much for me, but I will say that there are some less vibrant options, like that pretty lavender and sea foam!
And now, the part I'm sure you're all here for - the 2017 Life Planner!
If I could really emphasize three things that made me happy about this planner, they would be the black coil, the new cover options (with more neutral and less feminine choices), and of course THE NEUTRAL THEME!
2017 Yearly overview Goal pages Colorful quote pages Lined note pages beginning each month Monthly overview with goals section Weekly overview with room for notes and a thankful thought Notes in back w/ lined, blank, & graph pages
18-Months (July 2016 – Dec 2017) Vertical, horizontal, or hourly option Colorful or neutral option Silver, black, gold, or rose gold coil option Spiral-bound Double-sided pocket page Zip pocket included Sticker pages Laminated month tabs Quotes throughout
If you're a colorful type of person, I've heard great things about the colorful theme. The colors are generally the same, but have been revamped to be even better! Woo hoo!
I'd like to briefly interrupt and share a few things. First the vellum page in the very front of the Life Planner (shown in photo above of snap in page flag set) is SO much thicker than previous years. I absolutely love it! The thick vellum feels so nice and looks great! Also, the new font. YES. Hello modern and fresh!
I also like that although there are still colors in the neutral theme, they are softer than the normal colors and slightly muted. The coil is also back to the smaller size (prior to 2016), which I like. The larger coil (used in 2016) was too bulky!
The stickers in the back continue to get better each year! They've continued to improve the colors to less bright and scary colors to more soft and pretty colors. This year, they've also included flags (shown below) instead of just rectangles. Yay!
Since you know I'm always totally honest, I will share a few less-than-perfect things about the 2017 Life Planner. I'm 100% the biggest fan of this new neutral theme, however, I think there are some printing specifics that need to be worked out. The numbers and the word "goals" on the monthly spreads are pixelated. Usually, all printed text is clear and crisp, but there are certain parts of this neutral version that are pixel-y.
I'm also not crazy about the fact that the double sided pocket is black and off-white, while the rest of the planner is black and white. I'm assuming this was done to match the gold foiling better, but it resembles something that has been sitting out in the sun too long when placed right next to the clean white paper.
Lastly, the goal pages in the front of the planner are not a smooth design. It's obvious that the grey boxes were made and the colored labels were placed over the top portion. Some are uneven, some have the grey lines showing while others don't. - It just seems amateur.
Other than those couple of things, I am of course loving all over this year's Life Planner! The black coil and neutral color scheme are basically everything I've ever wanted from EC and I can't wait to see how I do with the horizontal layout!
These beauties go on sale June 1st (so soon!) so be sure to mark your planners and calendars! Also, check out the new Luxe Collection (leather like covers) that are available for presale now. Don't forget, you can get $10 off your first Erin Condren purchase using this link!
