Mani Monday - Christmas Edition | 12/16/13

I tried a little something new with Mani Monday today and I really like the results. Now, I have never been good at nail art, and I am terribly envious of the people that are. Today I decided to take a stab at it and they turned out way better than I thought they would. They are in no way perfect, but I like the imperfections because they remind me that I don't have to be an expert at something to do it. So here it goes...

As you can tell, there are quite a few fingers that are a bit messy, and look more like blobs than leaves but it gives them character. Don't worry if you don't have "proper" tools, I did this with a Q-Tip and a bobby pin!
To get this look I first did one coat of Essie's Good As Gold across my nails. After letting that dry completely, I used a Q-Tip (take off the fuzzy cotton from the end to leave just the stick) to add three dots of Essie's Recessionista. For the leaves, I used the end of a bobby pin and Essie's Armed and Ready to make little leafy blobs. I finished the leaves by adding a little of Butter London's Trustafarian over top for some sparkle. Lastly, I used a quick dry top coat to hold everything in place.
I hope this gave you a little inspiration for some holiday nails of your own. Remember, you don't have to be an expert to do something like this, have fun with it! Also, from a distance, you cannot even tell I messed up. In fact, they actually look like I knew what I was doing.
If you try this out, tweet me pictures (@Noodoso). I would love to see them!
