Minimalist Christmas Decor Using Extra Greenery
I'm so excited to share this quick and easy DIY with y'all. I love love love Christmas and the entire month of December. (And the last half of November when it really starts to feel like the holidays.) There's a certain week each year when I get really fired up about Christmas and want to make all the things, decorate all the things, and do ALL the Christmas-y things. This year, that week started on Friday. This weekend I whipped up this fun little minimalist Christmas decoration using some extra greenery I had from other December projects. And would you believe me if I told you this cost me $3!!!
When I told you this was quick and easy, I wasn't joking.
What you'll need:
Clear Ornaments - I prefer glass because the clarity is so much better. Twine, String, Etc. Christmas Greenery
Here are the steps:
Carefully remove metal toppers from ornaments by gently pulling up on the round loop at the top.
Cut small pieces of greenery or use your scraps and place 1-3 pieces in each ornament (depending on the size of the greens and the size of the ornament.)
Replace metal topper by squeezing the two prongs together and inserting them into the top of the ornament.
Use twine, thin rope, yarn, or whatever you have on hand and tie a piece to each ornament - vary the lengths for each ornament so they each sit at a different height.
Group your ornaments together and hang in the location of your choice! ( I used a pretty & decorative thumb tack to do this.)
You can use as many or as few ornaments for this as you would like! While this looks best hanging in a corner space, get creative and hang it wherever you think it looks best!
If you don't have any extra greenery, cut a few pieces from the inner branches of your tree, or from the back. I know a lot of people use artificial trees, and that's okay too! Most tree lots will let you go around and pick up the tiny pieces from the lot floor if you ask!
If you give this a try, I would love to see how it turns out! Share your photos with me on Instagram.
