Polish Review: Essie Sunday Funday

I went to the store the other day to purchase something completely unrelated to nail polish, or even beauty products for that matter, and ended up leaving with an Essie polish that I was super excited to try!

Essie | Sunday Funday

Essie's Sunday Funday is  a bright coral color with very (very) light gold shimmer (the shimmer is very hard to see, unless you are looking for it). I loved this color in the bottle and thought it was great for summer! I applied this last night and while I still love the color, I am not crazy about the polish itself. Take a look:

3 coats + Top coat, Natural Light

Like I said, the color is gorgeous, but if you look closely you can see that the whites of my nails show through. If you have followed my blog or YouTube channel, you will know that the whites of my nails showing through my polish is one of my biggest pet peeves. Sadly, I cannot wear any of those super pretty sheer colors that I see everyone rocking! For me it is all or nothing. While I could continue to add layers to this to create a more opaque color, more coats equal more chipping and I hate chipped nail polish.

I have plans to try a few other nail tricks with this polish to see if I can get a better coverage out of less coats. I would hate to not wear this color as often as it deserves! If I can come up with something magical, I will let you know!

What do you think of this color?
