Summer Smoothie Recipe

I have recently fallen in love with smoothie making. I love smoothies, but always run into the problem of not being able to have certain ingredients when I buy them from a smoothie bar or juice shop. So I have been making my own, and have fallen so in love that I couldn't wait to share my recipe with you! With the weather beginning to change, this is the perfect smoothie for warmer months.

The ingredients I use are:

1 medium banana
11 small strawberries
20 blueberries
1 large peach slice
4 pieces of mango
3 large tbsp. "Yogurt"

1 1/4 cup cranberry juice

I prefer to use frozen fruit because smoothies have a better consistency when blended with a little ice. By using frozen fruit, I get the consistency I like, without ice chunks. Of course, you can definitely use fruit and ice cubes if you prefer.

I add all of the fruit into the blender, add the cranberry juice, and add 3 big tablespoons of "yogurt." Because of my allergies, I use gluten-free/dairy-free yogurt, but again, substitute away and find what works best for you!

To give you an idea of how full your blender should be, mine is usually about 300mL liquid (give or take). After blending, for about 25 seconds on the smoothie setting, I add a serving of Vega One Natural Nutrition Shake powder (again, completely optional). Then, I blend again on the same setting for about 20 seconds.

Ta-da! You have a delicious smoothie, and you didn't even have to leave your house.

This combination is probably my favorite so far, but I would love to try out some new ones. If you have a favorite smoothie recipe for me to try, leave it in the comments below! Tweet me pictures or tag me on Instagram (@Noodoso) of your smoothie if you try this out, and let me know how you like it!
