The Coffee Guide + Scout Coffee Co.

If you know me, you know that coffee is one of my absolute favorite things. For as long as I can remember I have been so intrigued by the process of making coffee, the different aromas and notes of different flavors, and the different ways you drink coffee. My love of coffee started early, but really became a hobby of sorts after becoming a barista.

Before making the transition from Wordpress to Squarespace, I had a "Coffee" category on my blog. There I would talk about different roasts I had tried, coffee shops I visited, and other coffee-related topics. I knew when I switched over, I wanted to bring that aspect of my blog with me because I feel it is something that really describes who I am. I am in fact bringing it back, but even better!

Introducing... The Coffee Guide. In The Coffee Guide, I will write about all things related to coffee as well as different recipes for coffee drinks and snacks. Think of it as a field guide, but for coffee. To start off the new guide, I would like to share with you a coffee stop!

A while back I heard about a coffee shop opening up in San Louis Obispo, Scout Coffee Co. We go down there occasionally for day trips, and I remember making a mental note to visit when it opened. Time passed and my bad memory forgot all about it.

This past weekend Cody and I went down with his family to visit the SLO Brewing Company. To my surprise, they are on the exact same street! In my panicked excitement, I pulled out my phone (since I didn't have my camera) and snapped a few photos to share. They're not the greatest I could have done, but I was so in love with the shop, I didn't even realize what I was doing.

Their house-made almond milk is delicious, as is their cold brew. If you're in SLO, you have to stop by Scout Coffee Co., have a tasty drink, and enjoy the atmosphere of this adorable shop!
