The Creatives Club

In my last few posts, I have mentioned The Creatives Club without really explaining what it is. Today I thought I would share with you what I have been working on, and give a little background on why I started it. Since starting my blog a year ago, I have met so many incredible people and have had  opportunities that I am so thankful for. It has also been the biggest learning experience. However, there have been times I've felt completely lost, and other times I've felt overwhelmed. Not having anyone in my day-to-day (non-online) life that could relate to these things was hard. I pushed the feelings aside, which eventually led to me blaming my blog and thinking about quitting. Of course, blogging is what I love and I couldn't just stop. So instead, I began to reach out to people I knew through Twitter and began to create friendships. These friendships grew to where I knew I could trust these people to be completely honest with me. I knew they would tell me the truth because they cared and could relate.

I got to thinking, and realized that I was most likely not the only creative out there that needed more creatives as friends (instead of just acquaintances). But I also noticed at the same time, that there are people here and there that seem to think blogging (or any other creative field: designing, small business owning, etc.) is a competition. There is this idea that 'if I  promote this person, they might become more popular than me.' You may be thinking, "Where the heck are you searching for friends if they are thinking this??" Well trust me, these people are out there and it is so discouraging. We are all in this together. There is room for everyone, and if you want to know a little secret... we will ALL be more successful if we work together. I promise.

I began to think about how we need a community of creatives. A community of like-minded, creative individuals working to achieve their dreams. As I thought about it, creating this community didn't seem like such a crazy idea. So, I began to do just that. Since starting The Creatives Club, I have met so many incredible, passionate, kind, talented, wonderful people. Our community is growing, and I have never been so happy to be a part of something.

So there you have it. TCC is created by creatives, for creatives. If you would like to join, click here to apply! We would love to have you join the community and have a place to share your creative dreams.
