Thursday Things // It Feels Good to Be Back

Hey, friends! I am SO excited to be bringing back my Thursday Things series. This is similar to those weekly roundup/review posts, I’m sure you’ve seen. I’ll share things I’m loving each week, new products I’m excited about, podcasts I’ve enjoyed listening to, recipes I’m loving, etc. You name it, it’ll likely be here in a Thursday Things post at some point. If you’re curious about how these work, you can search “Thursday Things” on the blog and read past posts.

Back when I started blogging in 2008, I was so eager to share the things I was loving with all of my internet friends. It was a way for me to get all of my thoughts and excitement about even the most random of things, out into the world. Over the years, I lost my excitement for blogging. I went from blogging for fun, to blogging for profit, to blogging full time as a job, then to not blogging at all, and back to trying to blog for fun. Well, last year was rough for me. I lost my purpose and ended up not doing very much creatively or blogging-wise. It was a real struggle. I created only for other people and not for myself, and lost the love and excitement I once had for so many things.

With that said, I have made 2019 the year of ME! I’m working on a post right now about being selfish and what I learned in 2018. It’s going to be a good one, so keep an eye out for that. Anywho, I’m going back to my roots - blogging for fun, creating because I love crafting and memory keeping, and basically just focusing on all the things that make me happy to be me!

Phewf! With that said, let’s go ahead and jump right in!

I recently found these label holders that are not only great for organizing around the house and in the studio - labeling boxes, drawers, cabinets, etc. - BUT! they are also SO perfect for labeling albums. They’re super light weight and are stick-on, so you can easily stick them to the side of your album (if it doesn’t already have a nameplate) and slip in your customized label. Whether you want to put the name of the album/project, the vacation location, the year of the album, etc. these are so perfect!

Pasta has been my go-to recently. I crave pasta regularly, but in the past week or so, it has been magnified. Now, y’all know I’m gluten and dairy free for health reasons, so when I say pasta, I am referring to my GF/DF version. Well, I have been loving this recipe for the most delicious pasta sauce. I was craving something other than red sauce and this was a quick and easy recipe I found just by searching Google.

If you haven’t already heard, The Creatives Club is holding its second retreat at the Whatever Craft House. I am SO excited to meet a bunch of crafty people and create alongside them for three and a half days! If you want to join us, you can grab your ticket here. And as a special little thank you to my readers, if you use the code MADEINMOJAVE you’ll get $20 off your ticket price!

I just joined Book of the Month and I am so excited to try it out. I’ve been reading like crazy recently and love the idea of not only getting book recommendations, but having them shipped straight to my house! If you want to give it a try, you can get a free book by using this link! Score!! Then come be my friend on Goodreads so we can cheer each other on, recommend books, and be book buddies!

I’ve been on the hunt for a cute address book. You know you’ve finally reached adulthood when you want a book to keep all your people’s addresses in. But really, it’s about time I picked one up. It’s getting old texting my mom for everyone’s address 20x a year. LOL! Here are a few I’m considering: I like this one, but am not sure how I feel about the tabs, plus it’s a bit small (but SO cute!!) I love the simplicity of this one, but the entry spaces seem a bit dated and will be a waste of space. I love that this one has a space for the person’s birthday (because I need all the memory help I can get), but I really am not a fan of that cover. Everything about this one is gorgeous, and is the one I’m leaning toward, but we’ll see! The last one I’m looking at is this one - I like the size, the cover, and the contents - I just need to get over those colorful tabs.

Have recommendations for me this week? Leave them below! Let’s chat about things we’re loving!

I hope y’all have a great end of the week, and an even better weekend! I’ll be back soon with more crafty and lifestyle goodness!

xo, Suzanna
