Wantable | November 2013
The Wantable packaging is so simply and classy, I just can't tell you how much I love it. Less really is more in this case.
Upon opening the box I found three full size products and one sample. I was actually quite shocked to see two brands I have heard of.
The first product I pulled out is also the biggest. Boxed in gold and purple, my eyes were immediately drawn to it. I have heard of Lise Watier many times, but have never tried their products. This is the Taj Mahal Powder and it comes in a lovely glass bottle with an atomizer. This super fun glitter bronzing powder looks amazing on the skin, giving a sun-kissed glow while adding a hint of shimmer. I was hesitant at first, but after applying it I was hooked. Although this seems very dress-up-esque (lol, the only way to describe it!), it is something that is wearable on an everyday basis to add a bit of glam. This product retails for $29.00.
The next product is a full size eyeshadow from be a... bombshell, a brand that I have heard of but have never tried. The shade is "tempted" and is a beautiful peach/coral color. Although coral is usually considered a spring/summer shade, the softness of this shadow makes it perfect to wear all year round. It also has great color pay off and feels very smooth. This eyeshadow retails for $14.
Also included was one sample product by the brand Skiin. This is an Instant Skin Tightener and Line Filler. I know they say you can never start preventing signs of age too early, but this is just not a product I am interested in. I will be passing this along to my mom to see if she might like it!
The last product, Girlactik Beauty Cream Blush in the shade Coral, is the third full size product. I am not usually a fan of cream blushes, but I really like how smooth this one feels. Also, it does not feel greasy and has great color pay off. The shade is one that I definitely think could be flattering on most skin tones, but I would group this into more of a summer/spring shade as it is quite bright. This blush retails for $18.
In the picture above, the Coral Blush is on the left and the Tempted Eyeshadow is on the right. Neither of these shades were placed over a primer and both were only one swipe of my finger.
Overall, I would say this box included some lovely products. The value of the products totals $61, and they are all great quality. Each Wantable box is $40, and if you subscribe the price drops to $36 per box. Although I am very satisfied with the contents of the box as well as the packaging, this is not a box I will be subscribing to. For me, monthly box subscriptions are a gamble and I am way more comfortable spending $10 a month than I am $40. Having $40 on the line takes the fun out of the gamble and creates a sense of stress, hoping the products I get are worth the money. I would much rather go to Ulta and spend $40 on products I know I want.
With that being said, if $40 is in your budget to spend on a monthly box subscription (like $10 is in mine), then I would definitely recommend giving Wantable a try. I am very pleased with the products I got and plan on using them all.
