Wildflowers | Scrapbook Layout
Okay guys. This layout is my absolute favorite of all time! Seriously. Favorite to the point that I've already purchased a 12x12 frame to hang it on our wall. I can't take credit for the idea behind this layout. I definitely stole it from the amazing Elsie. I made sure to add my own touches and twist things up a bit to fit my personal style. Be sure to click that link above to watch her video on the process of her layout!
I used the We R Memory Keepers Wildflower collection for this layout. It's heavy on the burgundy/red side, but I decided to incorporate as little of that color as possible. I personally LOVE the lighter, more gentle colors of the collection and thought it suited our apartment with the lighter colors. You'll notice I did sneak in a tiny bit in the two corners for a little pop, though.

Instead of using the ephemera pack from this collection (which is absolute perfection), I fussy cut each of the elements from one of the 12x12 pieces of paper. Not only did I use way more than the ephemera pack would have allowed, the paper is thinner so ruffing the edges up so they didn't lay flat and layering the pieces worked perfectly!
That ampersand is hand drawn and cut by yours truly and I have to say, I am pretty darn proud of it. The process took about 2 hours (I'm not good at drawing and was working with a dull Xacto blade), but I sipped on some iced coffee, watched Harry Potter, and the time flew by!
If you know me, you know wildflowers are and always have been one of my absolute favorite things. Not only that, but this layout reminds me of one of my favorite Tom Petty songs, and every time I look at it I just can't help but smile the biggest, cheesiest smile!
